Wedding Bells !

The year started with cake-baking – dress fittings -more cake baking – make-up tests, and hair trials, and that was just for Andy, but before you could say “confetti” the big day 18th March came and the weather gods were kind. A beautiful sunny Spring day greeted Fran and Steve, and Lulworth Castle looked stunning – a perfect backdrop for the happy couple, their friends and family. Otis went to a doggy-sitter in Lulworth Cove – but not to miss the fun, sniffed them out on their photo-trip to the beach and made the most memorable photoshot

The newly-weds danced up the aisle

Discovering Suffolk

A dog friendly pub serving great food and wine, on a deserted beach in the beautiful Suffolk countryside in April was too much to resist for Andy and Cathy, so a trip to Dunwich was planned, and what a time they had ! Southwold, Sutton Hoo, Aldeborough, Walberswick, Orford with its wonderful oysters, were all just delightful. So nice in fact that they took the girls back on a return in August for a short family holiday

The Return Visit

35 years and counting

It was July 1988 that a young Cathy and Andy settled in loughborough and Andy started working at Fisons Pharmaceuticals. Who would have guessed that 35 years later he would be still working, and working for the same company ! ..although various mergers meant the company was now called AstraZeneca. To celebrate and to thank Cathy for putting up with him and following him from London, to Huddersfield, Canterbury, to Loughbrough, Gothenburg and Cambridge, the pair headed off for a romantic weekend in Venice

No rain in Spain

Still in the holiday spirit in September, Andy and Cathy, this time with Juliette jetted off to Seville for a couple of days and a long Uber transfer to Marbella to stay with friends Mark and Kent for a few more days. Visits to Rhonda and some great restaurants finished a memorable stay in Spain

The girls

Frannie , apart from getting married, completed her last paediatric examination and is now truly paediatrician currently working at Kings College Hospital. Long days and long nights on the wards, she and Steve have still fitted in many trips, and little Otis is a well travelled doggie , making friends wherever he goes

Verity remains in Gothenburg working at the International School, playing piano at her church, and loving her circle of close friends, who take every opportunity to enjoy the beautiful nature of the Gothenburg area and the delights the city has to offer.

Juliette is currently completing her PhD at University of Cambridge, and still enjoys this little, rich, vibrant city with its music, science and multiculturalism, and seeing her parents on a regular basis.

The dog

Lastly but not least, Poppy is still ruling the roost. She loves it when the girls come home. She is now rather good at walking around Cambridge, loves all the admiring looks , lures them in then hates it when strangers try to stroke her.

She has enjoyed holidays in Dunwich, Oreford, Lulworth, and Wells, been on a boat, but equally loves to visit her dog minder Hannah for holidays

Merry Christmas

The Davis’ are spending Christmas at Fox Cottage, chilling out after a busy year, thinking of you all and hoping you all have a wonderful Christmas and a happy New year
